“Embedded finance is very exciting and opens up a whole new opportunity for the future. The world of financial inclusion used to mean that you had to go to a financial service provider to get financial services. With embedded finance, you can start leveraging consumer goods and networks that reach out to very small mom-and-pop shops in extremely remote locations. You can leverage platforms, and you can leverage the data they have, and you can see the goods that these shops are selling. All of a sudden, they become visible, and you can give them working capital credit, which can be transformational.” At Web Summit Rio, our President and CEO Michael Schlein joined Gabriela Szprinc, Dock’s Chief Business Officer, and Leandro Miguel Souza to share how the Brazilian experience can serve as a benchmark to help other countries improve financial inclusion.
