More and more financial service providers are recognizing the importance of becoming women-intentional, both internally and in how they serve their women clients. They understand that this is not only the right thing to do, but also a strong business opportunity.

With support from The Coca-Cola Foundation, Accion is helping Fidelity Bank in Ghana become a more equitable organization, enabling it to better serve and grow women-led businesses, while also empowering women leaders within the bank.

We worked closely with the bank to ensure internal processes are fair to both men and women, and to adopt more inclusive hiring practices, product design, customer training, and data practices. For example, we used sex-disaggregated data to understand how women interact with financial services and to serve them better.

Building on this work, Fidelity Bank enhanced its policies and practices to better support and develop women on its team. Together, we also researched the needs and behaviors of women entrepreneurs and used those insights to make the bank’s products and services more relevant to them.

Through these efforts, we’re helping women entrepreneurs access the support they need, while Fidelity Bank becomes not just a provider, but a partner of choice.

By supporting financial institutions in their journey to become women-intentional, we are enabling them to deliver both social impact and commercial success.
