Traditional savings circles are trusted, but informal. They pose risks to members, predominantly women, and limit their access to formal credit.
With support from The Coca-Cola Foundation, Accion helped Caja Los Andes and its CANDELAB innovation team in Peru launch “Guerreras Juntas,” a digital app that brings savings circles online and enables access to formal financial services.
We incorporated a gender focus into the product and marketing strategies, maintained the traditional savings structure, and used data-driven methods, including segmentation and propensity modeling, to encourage more women to sign up and benefit from the app.
“Guerreras Juntas” provides a secure and more accessible way for women entrepreneurs to save using a system they know and trust.
This platform makes saving simple and familiar, helping women manage their funds with confidence and plan better for their families, businesses, and future.
We are not just digitizing a traditional process, but improving financial access and outcomes for Peru’s women entrepreneurs.
