For low-income women entrepreneurs in Bangladesh, a larger loan can mean the difference between surviving and thriving.
With support from The Coca-Cola Foundation, Accion and Sajida Foundation’s microfinance program are enabling women entrepreneurs to access bigger loans that can unlock growth opportunities for their businesses.
To make this possible, we researched their needs, developed tools to make loan graduation objective and unbiased, and tailored loan products and policies so women can confidently seek larger loans that match their repayment capacity.
By drawing on insights from our research, we developed risk scoring models that support equal access to credit, and piloted loan terms and pathways to larger loans and other financial products, while maintaining the institution’s portfolio quality.
With these new tools and approaches enabling their access to more funds, women can aim higher and build stronger businesses.
Together, we are helping to create opportunity, increase stability, and secure a brighter future for women and their families.
