Lucy Kiai is Director, Risk and Digital Lending, Accion Advisory, where she leads end-to-end design and rollout of digital products for micro & small enterprise (MSE) customers. This entails optimizing credit policies and risk management standards that guide businesses through the digital credit cycle. 

Prior to joining Accion Advisory, Lucy was the Head of Credit at Safaricom Plc, where she led the Mpesa Lending business. With over 17 years Financial Services experience in Banking and MFIs, she has extensive experience working across East, South, and West African countries, as well as assignments in Malaysia, India, and Singapore. 

A native of Kenya, Lucy holds a bachelor’s degree in international business administration, finance from the United States International University in Nairobi, Kenya, and an MBA in global business and sustainability from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan, Italy. She is based in Nairobi.
