Red Accion is a network of microfinance institutions working across Latin America to create a fair and inclusive economy.

Founded in 1983 as the first international network of microfinance institutions focused on financial inclusion, Red Accion serves as a collective voice of the industry, enabling providers to share lessons learned and best practices, developing strong and effective alliances.

Red Accion brings together 19 organizations from 14 countries in the Americas, with its members serving millions of customers with financial products and services, including small and working capital loans, savings, insurance, remittances, and financial education and training.

Red Accion’s mission

Red Accion’s mission is to promote the development of its members and the microfinance industry to serve low-income populations through financial products and services that improve people’s quality of life.  

To achieve this mission, Red Accion network members observe these values:

  • A focus on financial inclusion. Red Accion supports the expansion of financial services to all low-income individuals, emphasizing services directly linked to improving quality of life and reducing poverty.
