Carlos Perafán

Vice President, Latin America

Carlos Perafán is Vice President, Latin America, where he leads the Advisory practice in the region. He also leads the regional office in Latin America, working with financial institutions, funders, and ecosystem partners to advance financial inclusion across the region.

Carlos brings more than 25 years of experience at the intersection of financial services, technology, and international development. He spent over two decades at Accenture, where he worked across business and technology consulting roles and ultimately designed and launched Accenture Development Partnerships (ADP) in Latin America, serving as its Regional Director. In this role, he led a diverse portfolio of projects focused on digital transformation, innovation, and inclusive growth, working closely with multilateral organizations, NGOs, and private sector actors.

At Accion, Carlos focuses on helping institutions leverage digital transformation, data‑informed decision‑making, and emerging technologies—including AI—to responsibly expand access to inclusive financial products and services across Latin America.

Based in Bogotá, Colombia, Carlos holds a degree in Economics and Finance from Bocconi University and a Master’s in Microfinance and Financial Inclusion from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid.
