Using human-centered design and behavioral economic principles, Accion, in partnership with MetLife Foundation, spent the past three years working closely with partners in Mexico and Chile to develop new offerings that not only met the product needs of underserved clients, but also improved their financial health. With the development of these new, best-in-class digital products, Accion and our partners enabled access to the right tools for micro and small business owners to stay resilient, form healthy financial habits and build the skills they need to achieve their goals.
On December 2nd, 2021, a webinar was held to mark the culmination of this project. Accion partners Caja Bienestar, Caja Cerano, Destácame, Organizame & Fundación Banigualdad, and RedCapital recounted their experiences employing customer-centric approaches to provide better quality products, the lessons learned around helping clients adopt positive financial behaviors, and the impact on clients’ financial health to-date.
