As Senior Managing Counsel at Accion Impact Management (AIM), Javier is AIM’s lead investments counsel, providing legal support and advice in connection with AIM managed mission-driven impact investing activities. As AIM’s Chief Compliance Officer, he leads the compliance function for this entity and AIM managed investment initiatives. Prior to joining AIM Javier served as Associate General Counsel at Accion, where for over a decade he provided legal support and advice to teams across the organization on a wide range of legal matters. Javier holds both a JD and an LLM in Banking and Financial Law from Boston University School of Law, with concentrations in Financial Services Transactions and Compliance Management.  He also holds an MBA from Boston College, a MA in International Relations from Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), and a B.A., Magna Cum Laude, with Distinction, from Boston University.
