Our communications work aims to ensure Accion and our partners serve as demonstration models and a catalyst for a more inclusive world. As SVP and Chief Communications Officer, Jim Rosenberg leads all aspects of Accion’s brand and external communications, including digital media, media relations, internal communications, publications and thought leadership, and development communications. He joined Accion in 2015 and has more than 20 years of experience in communications and media. Previously, Jim was UNICEF’s Chief of Digital Strategy where he oversaw the UN agency’s global web, social media, video, and photo teams.
As the World Bank Group’s Head of Online and Social Media, Jim played a key role to create a coherent, global approach to digital communications, introducing the Bank to a new, younger audience in emerging markets. He led the team tasked with corporate web and social media. At the World Bank Group, Jim was also a regional web editor covering South Asia and managed outreach for CGAP’s inclusive fintech program.
Prior to his roles in international development, Jim was a business reporter for WAMU-FM, “Marketplace,” and a producer for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation and XM Satellite Radio. He holds a master’s in Journalism from Columbia University in New York City and is based in Washington DC.
