Brian Kuwik is Accion’s Senior Vice President, of Central Asia. In his previous role of Chief Regional Officer for Africa, he headed Accion’s operations and managed its relationships with partner financial institutions in Africa. He sits on the boards of microfinance banks in Cameroon, Mozambique, Nigeria, and Tanzania, playing an active role in governance and providing strategic and financial advice. He also supervises Accion’s business development in the region and supports the delivery of advisory services.
Brian brings to his role more than 20 years of experience working to improve financial inclusion in Africa, Asia, and the Caribbean. Previously, he served as resident advisor and senior manager for Accion partners in Zimbabwe, Uganda, and Haiti. He supported the design and start-up of new microfinance banks in Nigeria, Ghana, and Cameroon.
Brian was a J.W. Fulbright researcher in Cameroon. He holds an MBA. in finance and international business from the University of Washington and a B.A. in international development from American University.
