Make a Gift of Securities

Accion welcomes tax-deductible contributions in the form of securities. This is a particularly powerful way to support our work by contributing appreciated assets without incurring capital gains taxes.

Shares Held in an Account

You will need to instruct your broker or banker about your wish to give securities to Accion. Specify the type of stock, the number of shares that you are donating, and the date by which the gift should be transferred. In order for your broker or banker to transfer the securities electronically, s/he will need the following information:

Because DTC information often does not include the name of the owner of the assets, it is important that you notify Accion of this transaction so that we may properly credit you with your gift. Please contact Raffaella Torchia at 617-684-0231 or via email at rtorchia@accion.org or have the individual performing that transfer contact her directly.

Shares Held in Certificate Form

Sign the back of the certificate in the name(s) as they appear on the front. To limit liability, please insert or print “RBC Correspondent Services,” as the appointed “Attorney.”

Draft a brief letter authorizing Accion International as the recipient of the transferred security. Please make reference for deposit to account number 89401153.

Sign and date the letter and send to our broker at:
