Microfinance client in India Mapping the Invisible Market: Growing Income, Growing Inclusion
Join us on June 11 at 10:00 a.m. (EST) for a webcast on the Financial Inclusion 2020 project. During this interactive session, experts from MasterCard Worldwide and the Center for Financial Inclusion at Accion will discuss how rising incomes among the very poor affect financial inclusion, the emergence of the “vulnerable class,” and an online tool that demonstrates how changing global trends affect access to and use of financial services.

Child in India Innovative start-ups make a big impact
Venture Lab, Accion's seed-stage investment initiative, is working with five innovative companies that aim to increase access to financial services for people around the world – including SaludFÁCIL, which works to help low-income people in Mexico pay for health care, and Varthana, an Indian company that finances affordable private schools.

Client in Mexico Development and growth in Latin America

In his remarks on the New Financing Mechanisms panel, Michael spoke to the great potential of the region, citing the impact that microfinance can have on economies, and detailing Accion’s history there.

Forging a life in Chifeng

With a small loan from Accion Microfinance China, Yue Hongwei and Jhang Yanan were able to build and strengthen two new ventures: Yue Hongwei’s modest taxi business, and the Wujia Barbecue Shop on Tianshan Road, Ping Zhuang, Chifeng, Inner Mongolia, of which Jhang Yanan is clearly in charge.
