About Our Alumni Efforts

Accion is working to preserve the organization's rich historical legacy and to ensure that the connections made throughout that history remain strong and fruitful through several key initiatives.

  • In December 2012 we held an Alumni Reunion webinar with a special presentation by Joe Blatchford. You can watch the webinar online here. (Internet Explorer 6.0 or later, Windows Media Player 9 or later, or ACELP codec required.  Leave password field blank.)

You can also review the presentation slides here.

  • Developing a comprehensive, detailed written history of the organization’s founding and its first decade of work in Latin America. Look for it to be posted soon on this website.

  • Creating a brand-new Facebook group dedicated to alumni. On this ‘reunion micro-site,’ you can connect or reconnect with former Accion colleagues and share information, photographs, contact details and more. To access the group, please see these special instructions.

  • Establishing of organizational archives at the Tufts University Digital Collections and Archives. Over the course of our 50th anniversary celebrations in 2011, we had many opportunities to reflect upon the significance of early volunteers’ work. Our goal is to preserve that carefully. The Tufts Digital Collections and Archives staff, led by director Anne Sauer, will catalogue and preserve all the physical records donated to the archives at the university’s Tisch Library, only a few miles from our Boston headquarters. Once the archives open, individuals will be welcome to access the records in person at the library or through Tufts’s online Digital Library.
