Business Training for Clients

Dialogue on Business

ACCION Dialogue on Business, developed by ACCION International, is an award-winning business training model developed for adult learning based on the knowledge and experience of participants. It uses interactive games and role-playing to solve real-life business challenges. Because the workshops are participatory and reality based – rather than textbook cases – ACCION Dialogue on Business is especially engaging for people with little formal education who may not learn effectively in a traditional classroom setting.

ACCION Dialogue on Business was started in 1999 and to date has trained more than 700,000 business owners in Latin America, 60 percent of whom are women, and is now expanding into India. In addition to our partner microfinance institutions, ACCION has licensed 51 organizations as varied as NGOs, banks, chambers of commerce, city governments and universities to offer the courses. ACCION Dialogue on Business is licensed to partners for a period of three years, and each licensee sets course fees independently.

ACCION’s Business Development Services (BDS) network is available to facilitate information sharing and communication between providers. Now, facilitators and licensed organizations have one comprehensive source for exchange and networking with their colleagues: www.dialogodegestiones.org

Recent Developments

Dialogue on Business continues the roll-out process in India, having recently formed an exciting new partnership with Muthoot FinCorp of Kerala. Together, a program was launched to train 20,000 women entrepreneurs in nine business modules in three Indian states – Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala – in 2010. The first nine entrepreneurial modules have been translated into Kannada, the local language of Karnataka. Other versions have been translated into Hindi (North), Tamil (South), Marathi and now Malayalam. Fifteen Master Facilitators have been trained using ACCION methodology, most of whom speak the local languages.
